Directions:In medium saucepan or microwave safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips stirring frequently. Once melted, set aside to cool slightly.
In medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
In bowl of electric mixer, beat the sugar, eggs and vanilla on low speed until well combined.
Add the chocolate mixture and blend until just combined. Continue mixing, adding the flour mixture slowly and blend until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and cover the dough. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 325° and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Use a tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop the dough and roll dough in your hands to create balls. Place balls about 2" apart on the baking sheets, then flatten slightly. Bake about 12 minutes.
If using large marshmallows, cut marshmallows in half crosswise while cookies bake.
When cookies have baked, remove from the oven and place either 1/2 large marshmallow or 3 miniature marshmallows on each cookie. Return cookies to the oven and bake another 2-3 minutes. Remove from baking sheets to cool.

Notes: This recipe comes from Pinterest but I learned about it from a neighbor in Germantown, TN. Margaret Uleke felt bad for me in 2013 (the year I broke my leg) and brought me cookies from her church cookie sale. The next year she asked if I would make sugar cookies to sell at the church. An extra 12 dozen sugar cookies were a lot, but money was raised for a good cause and I could not say “no”.
