2 cups sugar
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup water
11 oz fresh raw Spanish peanuts
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbs butter

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, syrup, and water in a large iron skillet. Place over medium heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Cover and cook for 3 minutes. Remove cover and cook to softball stage 234 F. Add peanuts stirring frequently. Cook until brittle - reaches hard crack stage 300 F. Remove from heat, add butter, then soda, and then salt. Stir well. Spread on a well-buttered 14 1/2 or 17 cookie sheet. As candy cools loosen edges of brittle on all sides of cookie sheet. Lift up and pull edges gently to stretch candy as thin as possible.
