4 large white onions
1 stick butter
2 t flour
1 quart chicken broth
1 quart water
1 t pepper
Dry french bread
1 package provalone cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Fry onion in butter, slowly until brown and golden. Sprinkle flour, add chicken broth, water, salt and pepper. Boil for 10 minutes. Cut french bread and toast. Pour soup into bowls with bread. Add cheese. Bake to golden brown.
