6 Slices of white Bread w/crust removed
1/2 stick margarine
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
6 eggs - well beaten ( I use mixer)
2 c. half & half
1 lb. sausage - I use mild
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Cook sausage, drain
melt margarine in 13 x 9 glass pan
tear bread up & sprinkle over the margarine
sprinkled drained sausage next
sprinkle cheese over sausage
beat eggs & other ingredients - pour over the casserole
Cover
Chill for 8 hours or overnight
Bake 350 for 40-50 minutes - uncovered

This recipe was given to my as a bridal shower gift. I have been making this casserole every Christmas morning since! It's a great brunch item.

You can substitute bacon for the sausage, change up the cheese types, or use "Hot" sausage.
