Ingredients:  
2 c flour
1/4 c shortening
1 c milk
4 Tbsp sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Work in shortening with a knife to size of small peas. Make a well in mixture and put in milk. Stir until just blended. If using can add raisins.
Drop on greased pans and bake at 350'

Mom would often make these. Without raisins they are great for strawberry shortcake. At times she would soak a sugar cube in lemon juice, then put in the centre. Many options.
