Ingredients:
This makes one recipe, you may want to double it so you have extra to freeze and use later

1, 10 oz can tomato paste
2, 6 oz can tomato paste
1 large can crushed tomatoes
1 onion, minced
1 quarter water
1 package of beef spare ribs, at least 3 but more is good

Directions:
Directions:
In a dutch oven, sauté onions until soft. Add all tomatoes and water to the onions and turn on medium high.

In a separate pan brown the spare ribs on all sides, add to sauce.

Once sauce comes to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer for several hours. At least 3. Remove spare ribs.

Serve with meatballs and/or sausage or let cool and use later.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
So when I make this sauce, I kick up the seasoning and the meat quite a bit. If you'd like Cathe's version, read on:

To Grandma's ingredient list I add the following items:

I use Italian seasoned crushed tomatoes
2 bay leaves
2 tbsp dried basil
2 tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp salt
1 tbs pepper
4 tbsp mined garlic
1 package of pork neck bones or if you can find them, 3-4 pig tails, browned before they are added to the tomato sauce

I follow the same method of cooking. When done I run the sauce through a colander to make sure that all chunks of meat are removed.

Then I put the sauce back on the stove and I go ahead and add the cooked meatballs and cooked sausage that I will serve with the sauce. I find that if I add this meat and let the sauce simmer for another hour the flavors meld really well.

Then you can serve or you can easily freeze the sauce with the meat included for later!
