Ingredients:

3 qts water
2 t salt
1 head cabbage

Sauce:
1 c chicken broth
1 can pureed tomatoes
1/2 c chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 t salt
2 T brown sugar

Filling:
1/2 lb ground beef
1 bacon slice
1/2 t thyme
3/4 t salt
1/2 c minced onion
1 egg
1/8 t pepper
1/2 c uncooked rice

Directions:
Directions:
Remove outer leaves and core cabbage. Boil 5 mins in salted water. Remove leaves 1 at a time as they soften.

Mix sauce ingredients until sugar dissolves.

Mi filling ingredients plus 1/4 c sauce. Roll 1T filling in each leaf and place in casserole dish. Pour 2 c sauce over top and bake at 350º for 1 hour.

Pour on remaining sauce and bake 1 hour more.

Top with brown sugar.
