Bran Muffins Recipe

2 cups 100% Bran
2 cups boiling water
3 cups sugar
1 cup Crisco
4 eggs
1 qt. buttermilk
4 cups All Bran
5 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
5 tsp. soda

Soak 100% Bran in boiling water while preparing the rest. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Add buttermilk. Sift flour, salt and soda then add All Bran. Fold into cream mixture. Finally, add soaked bran. Add raisins if desired. Then you fill 4 qt. glass jar and refrigerate. Put amount you want into greased muffin tins. Bake at 400.

This will keep for 4-6 months if put in glass jars. DO NOT STIR AFTER PUTTING IN JAR!

Spoon off the top each time you use it.
