2 c flour
½ t each salt and cloves
1 t each baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger
½ c soft butter
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c applesauce
1 c chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour with the rest of the dry ingredients, set aside. Cream the butter with till light. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the flour mixture alternately with the applesauce, just till blended, stir in the walnuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 325º oven 60-70 minutes.

This is best if you use homemade applesauce, but store bought will be good too.
