2 c. brown sugar
1½ sq. butter or ¾ c. shortening with pinch of salt
2 beaten eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
½ tsp. cream of tarter
FILLING:
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 c. water
½ c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together brown sugar and butter/shortening. Add beaten eggs. Sift together flour, soda, and cream of tarter. Add to other mixture. Shape into roll and chill over night. FILLING: Grind raisins and nuts. Add water and sugar. Cook together until thick. Use in cookies while warm.
