Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 pie crusts
6 c peeled and sliced apples
1 to 1 ¼ c sugar (depends on how tart your apples are)
1 tsp Cinnamon
3 T Flour
2 to 3 T Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together your sugar, cinnamon and flour. Toss with the sliced apples and place in your bottom pie crust. Dot with small pieces of the butter. Wet the edges of your crust with water before placing the top crust on. Crimp the crust edges together well to help seal. I usually still have at least 1 pie leak and run over! Bake at 400 for approximately 60 minutes. Should start to see juices bubbling through the slits in the top crust.* If doing a 10 inch pie in a deep dish you may wish to add more of the apple mixture and need to bake a little longer. You can also try to cover the edges of your crust with foil or a crust “cover” to help keep edges from getting too brown.

Personal Notes:
My Mother in-law Taffy helped me perfect my pie skills while making John’s birthday dessert at her house one year early in our marriage, so this is her recipe and his usual birthday treat! Although he has been known to almost prefer the “snails” I started making with leftover crust!
