½ cup rice
1 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1 onion
1 ½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1 large garlic clove
½ tsp. black pepper
6 peppers - red, yellow or orange
3 15 oz. cans Hunt's tomato sauce
1 can water
1 tbsp. parsley (optional), chopped
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. vegetable or canola oil

Directions:

Cook the rice.

Cut out seeds and middle of the peppers.

Mix together the rice, pork, beef, eggs, onions, salt, paprika, garlic cloves, and black pepper.

Form meatballs and stuff the peppers.

Mix the water and Hunt's sauce and pour on top.

Put parsley on top.

Bake at 375º for 1 ½ hours.

Mix oil and flour and put into the tomato sauce to thicken it up.

Serve with mashed potatoes (see recipe with pork chops) or Spaetzle (see separate recipe).
