2 cups sugar
½ cup white corn syrup
½ cup water

2 egg whites stiffly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
½ cup chopped nuts


**Need a candy thermometer

Directions:
Directions:
Place in saucepan over low heat and stir until sugar is dissolved then cook WITHOUT stirring to 252º (hard ball) with candy thermometer.

Stiffly beat 2 egg whites.

Remove sugar mixture from heat and pour into the egg whites beating constantly and continue beating until mixture holds its shape and loses its gloss.

Add 1 tsp vanilla and ½ cup chopped nuts then quickly drop from tip of spoon onto waxed paper.

Let cool.

Grandma John used to make this divinity and it was delicious bite sized pieces of chewy candy that we loved. You can add a drop of red or green and give away for Christmas.
