1 cup margarine
1 cup Skippy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups unsifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Sugar for sprinkles
Candy kisses, jam, or jelly

Directions:

Add first six ingredients to a bowl with mixer and beat at medium speed until fluffy. At low speed mix in the next four ingredients. Shape into 1" balls and roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 12-15 minutes or until browned.

Immediately press candy kiss in center. Cool and store in airtight container.

These are the beloved peanut butter cookies we enjoy over the holidays. You can substitute the candy kiss with a thumbprint in the center of the cookie and add nuts or jam instead. They also freeze great.
