1 cup unsalted butter or margarine at room temperature
2½ cups all purpose flour
½ tsp. almond extract
½ tsp. baking powder
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp. salt
1 large egg
1/3 cup raspberry jam

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and almond extract. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat until well blended. Spread in ungreased 9 in square baking pan. Smooth surface. Using a wet finger, make 5 diagonal indentations across the pan. Fill with jam. Bake 12 minutes, or until edges are golden. Cool before cutting. Makes 16 squares.
