12 lasagna
½ lb. Swiss cheese, grated
2 tsp. butter or olive oil
½ lb. ground beef
2 garlic cloves
1 big jar of already made tomato sauce (with onions, pepper, or garlic)
1 can (14 oz) of diced tomatoes
½ tsp. dried basilic
¼ tsp. dried oregano
¼ tsp. red pepper flakes

To make the quick tomato sauce:
Melt the butter or oil in a skillet
Add the ground beef and brown over medium heat
Add the can of tomatoes and the jar of tomato sauce
Add the garlic and all the herbs.
Cook slowly on low heat for about 30 minutes or until the sauce thickens a little.

Cook the lasagna according to the instructions on the package.
To assemble the lasagna, put a layer of sauce, then a few strips of lasagna, then the grated cheese. Repeat to make 3 or 4 layers. Be sure to finish with the cheese on top.
Bake at 350ºF in the oven for about 30 minutes. You can broil it for one minute at the end if you want.

This is one of the simple recipes I sent Emilie when she was in college and was attempting to cook. Sometimes, I also add a layer of chopped spinach, just to pretend it's more healthy.
