8 cups Quaker Squares Cereal
2 cup nuts (pecans, cashews or almonds)
1/2 cup lt corn syrup
1/2 cup lt brown sugar
3 tbsp butter or margarine
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Spray roasting pan with cooking spray. Combine cereal and nuts in pan.

In large microwaveable bowl combine corn syrup, sugar and butter and microwave on high 1- 1 1/2 mins, stir. Microwave 1 min more or until boiling. Remove and add vanilla and baking soda into mixture. Stir until foamy and pour over cereal coating thoroughly.

Bake 1 hour - stirring every 15-20 mins. Pour over foil or wax paper to cool. Then break up pieces. Store in covered container.

In 1997 got this recipe from former co-worker, Suzanne Murley. It is a great sweet and salty snack and perfect for holiday gift giving.
