1 box yellow cake mix
½ cup butter or margarine (softened)
½ cup brown sugar (packed)
1 cup Karo syrup (light or dark)
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 cup pecans (chopped)
1 tbsp. Bourbon (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Mix yellow cake mix (reserve 2/3 cup for later use) with butter and 1 egg, then press into 9x13 cake pan. Blend together reserved 2/3 cup cake mix, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 cup Karo syrup, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3 eggs, 1 cup chopped pecans, and 1 tbsp. bourbon (optional). Pour over cake mix that was previously pressed into cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
