2 Tbsp white corn syrup
3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp Hershey Cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
½ c. Crisco
½ c. walnuts (optional)
dash of salt

Candy thermometer

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cocoa with sugar and salt, add milk, and bring to boil stirring frequently.

Cook to 232º or until small amount of mixture forms into a softball shape when dropped in cold water.

If you have a candy thermometer cook to softball.

Remove from heat, drop in Crisco. Cool to lukewarm, add vanilla and beat until the mixture thickens. Add nuts if desired. Spoon out on wax paper to harden.
