Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3-4 cups of fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cup flour - you can use self-rising flour and omit the salt and baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt - heaped a little
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 cups milk

1 stick butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the peaches with 1 cup sugar and let it stand long enough to create juice. This can even be overnight - the secret is to have lots of juice.

Put butter in a 9" x 12" casserole dish and place in a preheated 325ºF oven to melt. Combine the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt (if using all-purpose flour), and the milk. Pour over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon the peaches on top of the batter. Bake at 325ºF for approximately 1 hour.
