1 Tbsp margarine / butter
1 egg
¾ cup white cornmeal
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1½ cups buttermilk

Directions:

Heat oven to 400º F.
Heat margarine or butter in a 1 quart casserole dish in the oven until melted.
Beat egg in medium bowl.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour into hot casserole dish.
Bake 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serve hot and if desired with margarine / butter or gravy.
