125g butter
1tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup dates (pitted, cut in half)
1 egg
1 cup seedless raisins or sultanas
1 tbs golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbs condensed milk
75g brazil nuts (chopped) or pecans
1 cup pl flour
pinch salt (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add egg, golden syrup, condensed milk and lastly flour (sifted with baking powder). Add dates and raisins.
Put into a slice tin lined with baking paper, or grease and flour.
Lightly press nuts into top of cake.
Cook 3/4 hour in mod oven, or till lightly golden. Don't overcook, as cake can become dry quickly.
Leave to cool before cutting.
