1/2 lb. bacon, browned
1 lb. hamburger
1 small onion, chopped and cooked with hamburger
1 large can baked beans (28 oz)
1 can dark red kidney beans (15 oz)
1 can lima or great northern beans (15 oz)
3 tbsp white vinegar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup ketsup
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:

Cut the bacon into small strips and cook well. Drain off the grease and place onto a paper towel.

Cook the hamburger, breaking it apart. Add the chopped onion to the hamburger pan and cook until softened.

Place the hamburger, bacon and onion in a casserole dish

Drain and rinse the kidney, lima or great northern beans. Add them to the casserole dish with the bacon, hamburger and onion mixture.

Add to the casserole:
3 T. vinegar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup ketchup
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Mix together well. Cook at 350º for one hour.

My family and friends love this baked bean recipe!! I have been asked to bring this baked bean dish to numerous family barbecues and cook outs over the years. My husband Richard LOVES these beans!
