1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
½ tsp salt
¼ cup brown sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 egg beaten
1 cup milk
1 egg beaten
¼ cup melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl and set aside.
In a liquid measure beat the milk and egg together and set aside.
Melt the shortening in the microwave and let cool for a few mins. When it had cooled add the shortening and the milk/egg mixture to the dry ingredients and stir well.
Bake in an 8x8 or 9x9 square pan (remember to spray it with cooking spray).
Bake 25-35 mins at 400º
