Ingredients:  
1 cup cooked dates - (1 pound chopped dates, ½ cup white sugar & some water)
2 cups flour
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, oatmeal, sugar, shortening, baking soda, salt and egg together. Press half the mixture into a pan. Spread cooked dates on top of crust. Layer the rest of the oatmeal mixture of top of the dates. Bake at 350º.
