Cowboy Bread Recipe

Joan Moss- Grand Island School


3 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter or margarine
3 tsp baking powder
tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
tsp nutmeg
1 cup buttermilk
3 eggs (beaten)

Blend flour, brown sugar, salt & butter together . Take out 1 cup and save for topping

Blend baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon & nutmeg and add to flour mixture after the 1 cup is removed.

Mix buttermilk and eggs and stir in to flour mixture.

Spread in to a 9x13 in. pan and sprinkle topping over top.

Bake at 375 for 35 minutes or until an inserted toothpick in center is dry of batter
