1 (8 oz) package of chopped dates, soaked in 1 cups of hot water
cup chopped walnuts
3 cups of flour, sifted
2 teaspoons of baking soda
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of melted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350.

Beat eggs and sugar together. Add melted butter, dates, and water. Stir in sifted flour, soda, salt, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (40 minutes or so).
