1 ¾ c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. ginger
¼ tsp. ground cloves
½ tsp. salt
½ c. butter (one stick), room temperature
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
¾ c. pumpkin puree
¾ c. chocolate chips

Directions:

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, ground cloves, and salt. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and pumpkin puree and beat again. Stir in dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in chocolate chips.

Pour into 1 greased and floured 8-in. x 4-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire rack.

You cannot go wrong with this simple pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Often I double the recipe to make two loaves, one for the family, the other as a gift, especially during the holidays. You can also make muffins with the same batter.
