Notes: This is a great alternative to matloaf and burgers. You may need to play with the volume of bread cdrumb/oatmeal/wheat germ to get the desired consistency for forming into patties. Only thing to remember is this is timely to make from dried beans. It tastes greatn and I'm not a vegetarian.
You can use the canned variety of beans; this cuts down the preparation time. But the dried beans need to soak and boil for at least 2-3 hours. If you use dried beans boil in this order: chickpeas 30 minutes, then lentils in the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Adjust amount of bread crumbs (or panko), oatmeal, and wheat germ to your taste, or for desired consistencyfor both patties and meatloaf.
