1½ c of long grain rice (Uncle Ben, Jasmine)
¼ c of bacon grease (cook 6 strips of hickory smoked bacon to get grease if you don't any.
1 large onion (Vidalia) chopped
2½ c of water
1 small quart pot (rice cooker)
1 tsp. salt
**Optional to make Fried Rice**
1 pkg. of Kikkoman Fried Rice seasoning
1 can of peas and carrots (frozen peas and carrot)
1 c of shrimp deveined, chicken breast chopped, skirt beechopped to make house fried rice.

On medium heat, place water in quart pot with salt bring to a boil, remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. In rice cooker, add rice, rinse at least twice to remove starch from rice. Cook rice in rice cooker, when cooked let stand for 5 minutes before adding to sauce pan.
In a medium sauce pan, cook onion in bacon grease. Sautee onions and stir in rice.
Add more grease if need to coat all the rice.
This dish taste best using bacon grease, smoked or hickory is best.

This is another family favorite. This is nothing to this dish expect that we all love a good pot of rice. This is good when you have left over rice and you what something in the morning to eat. You can add an egg to this and cook it in the rice. Loving This!!
