1 cup or more grated extra sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
3 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. butter
salt and pepper to taste
1 can asparagus

Directions:
Directions:
Drain asparagus and place in a casserole dish. (I like to use fresh asparagus instead of canned and steam them first)
Blend butter and flour in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until bubbly.
Slowly whisk in milk until well blended and cook until thick.
Stir in 1 cup of cheese to the sauce once thickened, remove from heat and pour over asparagus.
Top with more shredded cheese and cracker or bread crumbs.
Bake at 350º until bubbly.
