In a large bowl combine:
½ cup butter
2 cups of sugar (I use 1 and ½ c)
4 eggs
1 tsp almond extract
1 ¾ cups of flour

Mix above ingredients together well then add:
¾ cup chopped nuts your choice (I use pecans)
2 cups blueberries – fresh or frozen
Stir to coat nuts and berries (batter will be thick).
Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

Glaze:
½ cup powdered sugar
1 TBSP softened butter
2 to 3 tsp milk (You may need the extra milk if too thick.)
¼ tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients in bowl and beat until smooth. Drizzle over warm cake.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of ungreased 9 x 13 dish. Combine apple slices, sugar & cinnamon mixture and lemon juice in a separate bowl. Mix to coat apples. Arrange apple slices over the base. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine topping ingredients.
Spread mixture over partially baked apple mixture.
Bake an additional 25 - 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool before cutting. Recipe makes 24 bars. (Can make the day before and refrigerate.)

* evaporated milk comes in a small can – enough for 2 batches.
