"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Directions:
Mix all ingredients except garlic, onions and lemons

Cook in porcelain lined pan, if possible or regular pot as I do, cook for roughly 1 hour on medium so the sauce reduces and thickens, or mis a teaspoon of corn starch in a couple tablespoons of cold water and add in .

Keeps in refrigerator up to two weeks or in the freezer six months.

Use for spareribs, BBQ pork tenderloin, pulled pork, chicken or whatever

Makes a great quick gift in a fun bottle or container. Don't forget the ribbon😊

Personal Notes:
This is a family recipe from Alison Goudy (Langridge side) She served over large pork tenderloins cooked slowly ahead of time then sliced thinly when cooled. Warm with the BBQ sauce on top and served with warm rolls (perhaps Hawaiian)

Great for large groups, get the pork tenderloins at Costco for extra savings, we get the marinated one. Another choice are baby back ribs, baked 325 for one hour with just soy baste and 1 cup of water. Next, cover with sauce and bake until tender and browned at 350 for about an hur, or cooked very slow on bbq until tender
