2 cups all-purpose flour
10 teaspoons granulated sugar, divided
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1/3 teaspoon baking soda
1 Tablespoon grated orange peel
1/3 cup cold butter
1 cup dried cranberries
¼ cup orange juice
¼ cup half and half (half whipping cream half milk)
1 whole egg
1 tablespoon cream

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, 7 teaspoons sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in grated orange peel. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside.

In a small bowl, combine dried cranberries, orange juice, cream and egg. Add to the flour mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.

Pat into a ball with floured hands. On a floured surface, gently pat dough into 8” circle. Brush with cream and sprinkle with remaining 3 teaspoons of sugar (or raw sugar). Cut into 8 wedges and put on greased baking sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
