½ cup firm margarine
1 lb. flour
4 tbsp. Condensed milk
Oil for frying
2 cups granulated sugar
½ cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Rub margarine into flour until crumbly
Add milk and enough water to form a stiff dough
Roll out and cut into strips
Deep fry until crisp and golden brown
Combine sugar and water and boil until thickened
Pour syrup over dough, turning continuously to coat evenly until syrup crystallizes
