Ingredients: 2/3 cup butter or margarine 1 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 2 eggs 1 15 oz. can crushed pineapple, very well drained, reserve juice 1 tsp each baking soda and baking powder 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Glaze: 6 tbsp butter or margarine 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, indicted 3 to 4 tbsp pineapple juice

Directions: |
Directions:Cream butter and brown sugar, add eggs and beat til fluffy. Stir in pineapple, soda, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Mix well. Add the flour and blend well. Stir in the nuts. Drop by small spoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden. Meanwhile brown the butter for the glaze in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in powdered sugar. Add enough reserved pineapple juice to make a smooth drizzleable glaze. Cool cookies. Use a spoon to spread the glaze. Top with candied pineapple slice of desired.

Notes: My grandmother used to make these cake like cookies when I was a little girl. We never used the glaze though. They are delicious either way.
