4 lbs. yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
1½ sticks butter
1¼ c. whole milk
1 c. mayonnaise
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, cover the potatoes with water and bring to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt and simmer over moderate heat until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain the potatoes in a colander, shaking off any excess water.
2. In the same saucepan, melt the butter in the milk over moderately low heat. Remove from the heat and add the potatoes back into the pan. Use potato masher to mash potatoes to desire consistency. Fold in mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper to taste.
