1c sugar
3 Tbls cornstarch
¼ tsp salt
2½ c whole milk
5 large egg yolks
2 to 3 Tbls unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1 Tbls vanilla
4oz unsweetened baking chocolate, finely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Whisk sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan until well blended, gradually whisk in milk.
Vigorously whisk in egg yolks until no yellow streaks remain.
Stir constantly, bring mixture to a bare simmer over medium heat. Remove from heat and whisk until smooth.
Return to heat whisking constantly, bring to a simmer and cook for 1minute, take off heat.
Whisk in butter, vanilla, and chocolate until melted

Spoon filling into the prepared pie crust and press a sheet of plastic wrap directly on the surface.
Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving to allow the pie to set up.
Serve with whip cream
