1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup sugar or molasses
1 egg
1 cup Kellogs All Bran
3/4 cup milk
1 cup sifted flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening and sugar or molasses thoroughly; add egg and beat well. Stir in All bran and milk; let soak until most of the moisture is taken up. Sift flour with baking powder and salt; add to All-Bran mixture and stir only until combined. Fill greased muffin pans two-thirds full. Bake in 400 F oven about 30 minutes.

Note: When sour milk or buttermilk is used instead of sweet milk, reduce baking powder to one teaspoon and add 1/2 tsp baking soda.
