2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon jewel shortening
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Stir first four ingredients over heat to dissolve sugar, then boil until soft ball forms when tried in cold water. Cool partially. Add vanilla, beat until cream and thick. Turn into greased pan and cut into squares. Whole peanuts or walnuts may be added with the vanilla.
