1 cup white sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons dry mustard

2/3 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons butter
1 1/3 cup water
4 eggs beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Mix top four ingredients together.
Simmer last four ingredients and when hot add other mixture. Stir to thicken. This is thin but thickens later.

I recall mom making her own homemade salad dressing. The aroma filled the kitchen and I don't recall enjoying it!
