4C - Flour

1/2 C - Shortening

1/2 C - Cocoa

4 tsp - Baking Powder

1-1/2 C = Sugar

1-1/4 tsp - Salt

1-1/2 C - Milk

1 tsp - Vanilla

1/2 tsp - Cloves

1 tsp - Allspice

1 tsp - Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375º

Mix shortening and milk together in a pot on the stove over low/medium heat until blended Remove and cool.

In separate big bowl, mix all the dry ingredients together. Then slowly add the milk & shortening mixture in bowl. Use hands to finish mixture. Add more flour if necessary to form balls.

Drop ball on cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Let cool completely before adding icing :
1C - powdered sugar
2-3 Tbs - Milk or heavy cream
1/2 tps - Vanilla
May add food coloring of choice.
