Sourdough Starter:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups warm water
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 envelope yeast

Add before you bake:
2 cups Herman starter
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
⅔ cup oil
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1½ teaspoon cinnamon
2 eggs

1½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup nuts
1 Tablespoon flour,
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick margarine or butter

Starter:
Mix flour, water, sugar, yeast together. Let stand overnight, loosely covered in warm place. Next day, refrigerate loosely covered. Stir every day. Then feed on fifth day. Feed with 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, and ½ cup sugar. Keep refrigerated in a large covered bowl. Stir Herman every day. Feed him again on 5th day. Remember to stir him everyday. On 10th day take 1 cup Herman for yourself, 1 cup for a friend. Take remaining Herman (approx 2 cups) and add to the rest of the ingredients and bake.

On the tenth day, take 1 cup Herman for yourself, 1 cup Herman for a friend, and take remaining Herman (2 cups approximately) and add to the rest of the ingredients and bake. Mix ingredients by hand, pour in to greased and floured 9x13 pan. Combine last five ingredients for topping. Heat until blended. Swirl in to mixture before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Feed your new Herman starter and put back in refrigerator.
