1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 lg egg
1/4 cup molasses
3 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
Red hot Candies

Directions:
Directions:
With electric mixer at medium to high heat speed, combine butter, shortening, sugars, spices, egg, and molasses; beat well.
Sift flour, baking soda, salt together; add in 3 additions; mix well by hand or with electric mixer after each addition.
Shape dough into 2 rolls, wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap. refrigerate for 1 hour.
Assemble Cookie Gun: fill with one part of roll. Use high speed on cookie shooter.

Place a red hot candy in the center of each cookie.

Bake 7-8 minutes at 350º F.
