1-1/2 lbs of ground beef (not so lean)

1/2 cup canned tomatoes, drained
1/2 cup finely diced celery (optional)
1/2 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup finely diced green pepper (optional)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper

1 large garlic clove, minced (or garlic in oil from a jar)
4 thick slices bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º.
In a bowl beat the eggs, stir in the milk and oats. Combine with the meat and mix thoroughly.
Add Worcestershire sauce, tomatoes, celery, onion, green pepper, salt, pepper, herbs and garlic. Mix well. Instead of the Worcestershire sauce and tomatoes you can substitute 3/4 bottle of good store-bought steak sauce and reduce the Worcestershire sauce to 1 Tbsp.

Form into a loaf and sprinkle with salt and pepper. You can also add more sauce (optional). Lay bacon lengthwise on top. Bake 50 minutes.
