Cake:
4 eggs, well beaten
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups dates
2 cups nuts


Filling:
1/2 cup sugar, melted
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 lb butter (2 sticks)
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
For the cake--
1) Pour into cake pans
2) Bake 350º for 40-45 minutes

For the Filling--
1) Melt 1/2 cup sugar in sauce pan
2) Put sugar and milk in another sauce pan
3) Add melted sugar to boiling mixture
A) Cook 15 min. or until it forms a soft boil
B) Take off stove
C) Add butter and vanilla
D) Beat until cool and thick
4) Spread on cake
