1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
2 cans kidney beans drained
1 can diced green chilies
1 28 oz. can Italian diced tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
1 Lg sweet onion finely chopped
4 T butter
4 T olive oil

brown sugar, BBQ sauce (my recommendation- Noh Hawaiian BBQ sauce), beaumonde, black pepper, garlic powder, cumin, red pepper flakes

Toppings:
shredded cheddar cheese
sour cream
saltines
or
tortilla chips

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pot brown meat and onions in butter and olive oil

Season with garlic powder and beaumonde

Add the rest of the ingredients.
All spices and brown sugar and BBQ sauce are to taste.

Bring to a boil- then lower to simmer for hours (I usually simmer for a minimum of three hours)

Taste every hour and add spices, etc to taste


Top with sour cream/ shredded cheese/saltines/or tortilla chips!

My Stepdad, Dennis, would make a version of this chili in the fall/winter.
I LOVED it!
His was more of a soup- I tweaked it it make mine a chili.

We both like it sweet/spicy-

It's PERFECT for a large crowd- and easy to double or even triple!
