½ lb Butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
6 eggs
4½ cups flour
5 tsp baking powder
½ tsp Anise extract

Icing

Powdered Sugar
Water
3 tsp Anise extract

sprinkles

Directions:
Directions:
1. With a hand mixer, beat the butter (or margarine) with 1 cup sugar, then the eggs one at a time, then Anise. With your hands mix the flour with the baking powder and the butter mixture. Work until the dough is smooth. Dough should be sticky to your hands.

2. Roll out dough with both hands the size of your pinky. Shape into a braid or into little balls.

3. Cook at 400º for about 10-12 minutes or until the bottom of the cookie is light brown. Let cool.

4. Combine icing ingredients and make a soft icing. Dip cookies by hand into the icing then dip into sprinkles. Let dry.
