½ cup butter, softened
1 cup flour
2 tbsp water

1 tsp almond extract

3 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º

Mix together ½ cup butter, softened and 1 cup flour. Add 2 tbsp water. Mix thoroughly. Round into a ball. Divide in half. Put each half into a strip 12" x 3" on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Heat to a rolling boil and remove from heat: ½ cup butter and 1 cup water.
Add to above mixture and mix together: almond extract and 1 cup flour. Then add 3 eggs (all at once)
Hand mix until a ball forms and texture is smooth and glossy. Divide and spread over previous dough strips. Bake 60 minutes or until pastry is crisp and brown. Frost with almond glaze.
