2 medium onions chopped
4 cups stewed tomatoes
8 medium carrots peeled and sliced
4 stalks celery cliced
2 medium potatoes peeled and cubed
2 cups water
½ cup uncooked rice
1 Tbsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
